Friendly Fireflies

Recipe for Creativity

1. Cut black construction paper in half. Roll your paper and glue one end of your paper to make a roll.
2. Cut out space for the colorful paper by creating an upside down letter U starting from the edge of your paper roll.
3. Choose which paper color your fireflies glow in! Cut out a larger upside U and glue the colored paper to the inside of the paper roll.
4. Carefully cut out a circle for the fireflies face. Add googly eyes and a smile to your new friend! Once you have finished, glue the circle onto the opposite end of the paper roll.
5. Cut out two almond shaped drops with colorful construction paper. This will be the wings of your firefly! Carefully glue this onto the back of your paper roll.
6. Next, we are going to take our pipe cleaners and give our friend Antennae! Take one pipe cleaner, cut it in half. Useone half to curl both ends and pinch to the shape of the letter V. Glue this part to the back of the circle.
7. Finally, take your second pipe cleaner and cut it into 4 equal sections. Poke one end of the pipe cleaner into the side of the roll, near the bottom and curl it up at the end to make a leg. Repeat for the other side with another section of the pipe cleaner. Take the last two sections of the pipe cleaner and poke in on each side of the paper roll near the bottom of the fireflies’ head and bend to make arms. 

Receta Para la Creatividad

1. Corte el papel de construcción negro por la mitad. Enrolle su papel y pegue un extremo de su papel para hacer un rollo.
2. Recorta el espacio para el papel de colores creando una letra U invertida desde el borde del rollo de papel.
3. ¡Elige en qué color de papel brillan tus luciérnagas! Recorta una U invertida más grande y pega el papel de coloren el interior del rollo de papel.
4. Corta con cuidado un círculo para la cara de las luciérnagas. ¡Agrega ojos saltones y una sonrisa a tu nuevo amigo!Una vez que haya terminado, pegue el círculo en el extremo opuesto del rollo de papel.
5. Recorta dos gotas en forma de almendra con cartulina de colores. ¡Estas serán las alas de tu luciérnaga! Pégalocon cuidado en la parte posterior de tu rollo de papel.
6. ¡Luego, vamos a tomar nuestros limpiapipas y darle a nuestro amigo Antennae! Tome un limpiapipas, córtelo por la mitad. Use una mitad para rizar ambos extremos y pellizque la forma de la letra V. Pegue esta parte en la parte posterior del círculo.
7. Finalmente, toma tu segundo limpiapipas y córtalo en 4 secciones iguales. Introduce un extremo del limpiapipasen el lateral del rollo, cerca de la parte inferior, y enróllalo hacia arriba para formar una pata. Repita para el otro lado con otra sección del limpiapipas. Toma las dos últimas secciones del limpiapipas y mételas a cada lado del rollo de papel cerca de la parte inferior de la cabeza de las luciérnagas y dóblalas para formar brazos.
