Make Your Own Monster

Materials You Will Need:

• Pencil
• Paper
• Colored pencils, crayons, or markers

Instructions:

• Use your pencil to draw a totally random shape. Don’t think too hard, just let your pencil glide.
• Think about the shape and how it can be transformed into a monster. Will you be adding eyes, arms, ears, etc.?
• Once you are done with the outline of your monster use your coloring utensils to complete them.

Discussion Questions:

• What type of monster are you drawing? A silly one? A scary one?
• What makes a creature a monster?
• Did you make up this monster or is it a character you know from a movie or a book?
